On January 5, 2018, San Diego Union-Tribune Reporter Deborah Sullivan Brennan wrote the article “Vista bowling lanes to become upcycled furniture”. It highlighted the efforts of The CAR Group, the new owner of the Vista Entertainment Center and Deconstruction & ReUse Network, an environmental non-profit, to retain the venue’s history by salvaging the bowling alley’s lanes for reuse and keeping them out of the landfill.
