Santa Barbara’s Miramar Resort was known for its signature blue roofing tiles. When the property was purchased by Caruso Affiliated, the new owners didn’t want the pallets of new roofing shingles to end up in the landfill so they generously donated over 12 tractor truckloads (or over 200,000 square feet) to DRN for reuse. This equates to 72 Tons of material that didn’t end up in the landfill. If you’re ever in Tijuana and see a bright blue roof, you’ll know it probably came from the Miramar Resort.
